The 2025 Doha Film Festival, organized by the Doha Film Institute (DFI), concluded with the announcement of winners across several prestigious competitions. The festival honored films in categories such as International Feature Film, International Short Film, "Made in Qatar", and Ajyal Young Creators, aimed at youth aged 16 to 25.
In a notable ceremony, HE Sheikh Thani bin Hamad Al Thani, Chairman of Qatar Fund for Development and Member of the Board of Trustees of DFI, presented the Audience Award to Suzannah Mirghani, director of "Cotton Queen".
The International Feature Film Competition saw Maid Eid and Nader Abdulhadi win the Best Performance Award for "Once Upon a Time in Gaza". Kamal Al Jaafari for "With Hassan in Gaza" and Chie Hayakawa for "Renoir" shared the Best Artistic Achievement Award.
Jihan, a Libyan-Syrian filmmaker, claimed the Best Feature Documentary Award with "My Father and Qaddafi", while Guillermo Gallo's "The City That Never Sleeps" secured the Best Narrative Feature Film Award. A Special Mention was awarded to Pablo Perez Lombardini’s "The Reserve".
