ICBF organises 'Rang Tarang 2026' Labour Day celebration

Doha, Qatar: The Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF) organised a cultural evening titled 'Rang Tarang 2026' as part of its global Labour Day celebrations. The event took place on Friday, May 8, from 4pm to 10pm at ICC Ashoka Hall, with the participation of numerous workers from various labour camps across Doha.


The colourful cultural programmes featuring traditional art forms from different Indian states, performed by ICBF-affiliated organisations, were the main attraction. Indian Ambassador Shri Vipul inaugurated the event, which was presided over by ICBF President Shanavas Bava. The Ambassador commended the dedication of Qatar's worker community.


Distinguished guests included ICBF Coordinating Officer Eash Singh, Khaled Abdul Rahman Fakhr from the Ministry of Labour, Major Nayef Al Mutairi, Abdul Rahman Abdul Hameed, Francisco De Ovidio from the International Labour Organization, and Dr. Hanan Fuad Al Hidaya from Hamad General Hospital.


During the ceremony, the Ambassador released a guidebook for newly arriving Indians in Qatar. The handbook, available in Hindi, English, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada, covers Qatar's basic laws and essential information on permitted and prohibited matters.


Indian community leaders including ICC President A.P. Manikantan, ISC President E.P. Abdul Rahman, IBPC President Taha Mohammed, Babu Rajan P.M., Davis E.K., and Ziyad Usman were also present. ICBF General Secretary Deepak Shetty welcomed the gathering, MC member Neelambari S. delivered the vote of thanks, and Advisory Council member R.J. Nasia compered the event. Vice President Rashid Ahmed, Secretary Jafar Thayyil, and MC members Khaja Nizamuddin, Shankar Gowda, Mini Siby, Amar Veer Singh, and Mani Bharathi led the proceedings.
