Karnataka Sangha Qatar celebrates Mother's Day 2026

Doha: Karnataka Sangha Qatar, an associate organisation of the Indian Cultural Centre functioning under the aegis of the Embassy of India, hosted a vibrant celebration of Mother's Day 2026 at Vibrant Industrial Safety Training Academy, themed "Matru Devo Bhava."


The event commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by a song performed by Ms. Samanvi. Vice President Mr. Anil Bhasagi delivered the welcome address, and President Mr. Subramanya Hebbagelu expressed pride in the organisation's cultural initiatives. Chief Guest Dr. Fayqa Ashkanani, Director of Public Relations at the Ministry of Municipality, spoke on the universal importance of mothers, while Co-Chief Guest Ms. Bindu N. Nair, Second Secretary at the Embassy of India, highlighted the cultural significance of motherhood within the Indian diaspora.


Guests of Honour Dr. Rohini Puttegowda and Ms. Hameeda Kadar shared perspectives on health, well-being, and education. The event was also attended by ICC Vice President Mr. Shantanu Deshpande, Karnataka Sangha advisor and ICBF General Secretary Mr. Deepak Shetty, KSQ Advisors Mr. Arunkumar, Mr. Veeresh Mannangi, Dr. Sanjay Kudari, and ICC former President Mrs. Milan Arun.


The celebration included games and activities for participants, fostering community bonding. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Cultural Secretary Mrs. Bhavana, followed by a cake-cutting ceremony. Karnataka Sangha Qatar thanked venue partner Vibrant Industrial Safety Training Academy and supporters New Risha Ladies Salon, fnp.qa, Only Coffee, and Print Shop Services.
