Thiruvananthapuram:
Public campaigning for the Kerala Assembly elections will conclude at 6 pm on
Tuesday, marking the beginning of the mandatory 48-hour silence period ahead of
polling. After months of intense political activity, candidates and party
workers are making final efforts through rallies and roadshows across
constituencies as campaign momentum peaks.
The Election Commission
has announced strict guidelines during the silence period to ensure a free and
fair electoral process. Public meetings, rallies, processions, and any form of
voter-influencing activities are strictly prohibited once campaigning ends.
Additionally, election-related content will not be allowed on television, cinema, or similar platforms during this period. Political advertisements in newspapers on the day of polling and the preceding day will require prior approval. Leaders and party workers who are not registered voters in a constituency have been instructed to leave the area, with authorities urging full compliance to maintain transparency and uphold electoral integrity.
