Doha, Qatar: The Junior Section of M.E.S Indian School organized a vibrant Harvesting Day on January 6, 2025, at the Green Garden to promote environmental awareness and sustainability. The event was the culmination of a project that began in October when students and gardeners planted a variety of vegetable seeds. Over the months, the young learners actively participated in nurturing the garden, which flourished with fresh produce by harvest time.
Principal Dr. Hameeda Kadar commended the students and staff for their productive efforts and emphasized the importance of such eco-friendly initiatives in fostering environmental consciousness. She highlighted that these activities not only motivate students to contribute to environmental protection but also educate them on the value of fresh vegetables and sustainable gardening practices. Members of the school’s unit, along with CCF leaders, carried out the harvesting process, making the day a collective success.
The
event proved to be a valuable learning experience, teaching students the
significance of responsibility, teamwork, and perseverance. It also instilled a
sense of accomplishment and joy as they reaped the rewards of their hard work.
Harvesting Day served as a practical reminder of the importance of a green
world and sustainable living, leaving a lasting impression on everyone
involved.
