MoI issues safety protocols for elevator emergencies

Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Interior has released a set of safety protocols for the public to follow during elevator malfunctions, emphasizing the importance of remaining calm. The guidelines are intended to ensure a safe and orderly rescue process for those trapped.

The ministry advises passengers to use the alarm button or intercom to alert building security and suggests holding the "Open" or "Close" buttons for five seconds to see if the system resets. Individuals are strictly cautioned against attempting to force doors open or exit the elevator independently. If building staff cannot assist, residents should call 999 for emergency services and wait for professional help to arrive.
