MoPH launches annual vaccination campaign to combat Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Whooping Cough

Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has officially launched its annual vaccination campaign today, focusing on Year 10 students to safeguard them against tetanus, diphtheria, and whooping cough (Tap). This vital initiative is being executed in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, as well as the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC).

The school-based vaccination campaign aligns with strategies endorsed by the World Health Organization (WHO), which emphasizes the importance of protecting individuals from these preventable diseases. The WHO recommends that a booster dose of the vaccine be administered every 10 years to ensure sustained immunity.

The MoPH and its collaborators have commenced campaign activities across government, private, and community schools. Notifications have been sent to parents, urging them to provide their consent for their children to receive the vaccine, highlighting the importance of community participation in public health initiatives.
