Dubai: Nida Anjum Chelat, a young Indian woman, has achieved a historic milestone in the Dubai Crown Prince Endurance Ride (Ladies Category), a prestigious event featuring top athletes from around the world. Riding a horse named 'Razorback Wings of Grace,' Nida demonstrated extraordinary willpower as she completed the 120-kilometer course at the Dubai International Endurance City.

The competition was held in four stages. Nida completed the first stage (40 km) in third place. In the subsequent two critical stages, she moved up to the first position, strengthening her prospects for victory. However, in the final lap, she lost the first-place title by a margin of only a few seconds, finishing with a remarkable second place. Of the 98 world-class athletes who competed, only 35 were able to cross the finish line.

Nida is the daughter of Anwar Ameen Chelat and Minnath. Her father is a native of Tirur, Malappuram, and serves as the Managing Director of the Regency Group and President of the Dubai KMCC.

The 24-year-old already holds the record for being the first Indian rider in the world to complete the 160 km World Championship held in France. She also holds the honor of being the first Indian rider to achieve the prestigious 3-star status in equestrian endurance racing.

Nida began her training in horse racing at the age of twelve. She credits her sister, Dr. Fida Anjum Chelat, for being a constant source of inspiration and support. Nida stated that her next goals are the World Senior Championship and the 'Mongol Derby,' known as the toughest horse race in the world. Her skills as a rider were shaped under the guidance of the famous rider Ali Al Muhairi and the training provided by Takhat Singh Rao.

Nida holds a degree in Social Work from the University of Birmingham (UK) and has also completed her postgraduate studies in Spain.
