Riyadh:
Saudi
Arabia’s Ministry of Interior has initiated measures to update the status of
individuals holding various types of expired visas, including visit visas,
Umrah, transit, and final exit visas.
The
Ministry stated that this directive applies to visas which expired on February
25, 2026, specifically for travelers who have been unable to leave the country
due to current circumstances affecting the region.
According
to the updated regulations, those wishing to remain can request an extension
through their sponsor until April 18, 2026. This process requires the payment
of standard fees, which must be processed electronically through the digital
Absher platform.
Furthermore,
authorities are permitting those with expired visas to leave directly via
international ports without being required to extend their current visas or
paying any fees or penalties.
The Ministry highlighted that beneficiaries must either update their stay or depart the country before April 18, 2026. Failure to comply will result in the imposition of legal procedures and penalties under the Kingdom’s standing regulations.
