Qatar condemns reported Israeli plan to destroy Al-Aqsa Mosque, urges international action

Doha, Qatar: Qatar has deeply condemned alleged plans by groups linked to Israeli occupation organisations aimed at destroying the Al-Aqsa Mosque to replace it with the so-called Temple. Qatar considers such actions pose a significant threat and could escalate violence in the region, particularly amid the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip.

The state of Qatar’s Foreign Affairs Ministry has reaffirmed its firm opposition to any attempts to change the historical and legal status of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Jerusalem, or its holy sites. The ministry emphasises the urgent need for the international community to take decisive action to prevent these threats, hold the occupying power accountable, and protect these sacred sites in line with international law.

Qatar continues to express its steadfast support for the Palestinian cause and the resilience of the Palestinian people. It remains committed to international legitimacy and the two-state solution, advocating for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
