MoECC monitors health of biodiversity in northern marine areas of Qatar

Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC) recently conducted an inspection tour to assess the health of biodiversity in the northern marine areas of Qatar's territorial waters. Despite some damage to coral reefs caused by improper human practices, the Ministry confirmed the overall stability of wildlife and its components in the region.

This evaluation is part of the Ministry's periodic monitoring programs aimed at overseeing marine wildlife. The MoECC has highlighted the dangers posed by the random disposal of fishing gear and waste dumping, which threaten marine life and biodiversity.

In response, the Ministry calls on fishermen and seagoers to comply with environmental laws and actively protect the marine environment. It emphasized the shared responsibility of maintaining sea cleanliness and coral reef health to ensure the sustainability of marine resources.
