Doha, Qatar: June 10, 2025: The Lusail
International Circuit in Qatar is set to host the Formula One Grand Prix in the
final week of November 2026, as Formula One officially announced its 2026
season calendar.
Scheduled for November 27–29, 2026, the Qatar
Grand Prix will be one of the closing races of the season, just before the
final showdown in Abu Dhabi. The 2026 calendar includes a total of 24 race
weekends, making it one of the most action-packed seasons in F1 history.
The new season will kick off for the second
consecutive year in Melbourne, Australia, from March 6–8, at the iconic Albert
Park street circuit. The calendar also marks a historic change for Spain, which
will host two Grands Prix: one in Barcelona (June 12–14) and a new entry in
Madrid (September 11–13), the latter concluding the European leg of the
championship.
A significant highlight of the 2026 season is the
arrival of Cadillac as the 11th team on the grid, along with sweeping technical
regulation changes focusing on aerodynamics and power units, signaling a
transformative year for the sport.
Mohammed Ben Sulayem, President of the FIA,
emphasized the magnitude of the upcoming season:
“Next year's FIA Formula One World Championship
marks a significant new chapter for our sport. A new race, new teams, and the
arrival of new manufacturers, all ushering in a fresh era of innovation and
competition.”
