Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) has
reassured residents that goods and products remain widely available across retail outlets
throughout Qatar. The ministry stated that
supply chains are functioning normally and consumer needs are being met
regularly.
MoCI
urged the public to follow official guidance and purchase
according to their actual needs, promoting responsible consumption and avoiding panic buying.
Authorities also advised residents to rely only on official sources for
information and avoid spreading rumours that could lead to unnecessary
stockpiling of goods.
Consumers
were encouraged to buy
essential items such as food, medicines, and children’s supplies in reasonable
quantities and avoid purchasing large amounts out of concern.
The ministry also recommended shopping at different outlets to reduce crowding
and ensure goods remain accessible to everyone.
Additionally, MoCI warned businesses not to change prices without
prior approval,
noting that violations could lead to heavy penalties, including fines and
possible closure of establishments. Authorities said market inspections will
continue to ensure price stability and protect consumer rights.
