Doha: Safari Hypermarket has launched its Thattukada promotion, bringing the authentic flavours of traditional Kerala street food to its Bakery and Hot Food sections from November 1.
The promotion was inaugurated at Safari Mall, Abu Hamour, by Zainul Abideen, Deputy Chairman and Managing Director of Safari Group, in the presence of other Safari management representatives.
Celebrating Kerala's traditional food culture and bringing back nostalgic memories, the festival offers a wide variety of tea-time snacks, including Parippuvada, Ilayada, Uzhunnuvada, Pazham Pori, Ulli Vada, Sukhiyan and Vechu Cake. The extensive menu also features Kunjan Kozhikkoottu, fried quail, pepper-coated chicken, Karimeen Pollichathu, Navarasa Kozhi, Kozhi Vellulli Kizhi, tapioca with sardine curry, fried anchovies, charcoal-grilled quail, jackfruit seed and raw mango curry, charcoal-grilled goat leg, dry-roasted prawns, beef tripe pepper fry, spicy clam roast, ghee-roasted chicken and Thattukada Chicken Biryani. With more than 75 dishes, the festival brings together popular street food specialities from different districts of Kerala.
Adding
to the experience, a traditional Thattukada has been set up at the food court
of Safari Mall, Abu Hamour, recreating the atmosphere of old Kerala roadside
eateries. Vintage film posters and nostalgic radio songs add to the traditional
setting, offering customers an experience beyond the food itself.
Following the enthusiastic response to previous editions, Safari has organised this year's promotion on a larger scale, featuring a selection of popular dishes from across Kerala. The Thattukada promotion is available at Safari Mall, Abu Hamour, Safari Hypermarket Al Khor and Safari Barwa Village.
