Doha: The Basant Kumar Birla Auditorium at Birla Public School resonated with a sense of pride and commitment as the school hosted its formal investiture ceremony for the academic year 2026-2027. The event marked the official induction of the newly appointed Prefectorial Board, School House Captains, School House Vice-Captains, and Student Council members.

The occasion was attended by esteemed dignitaries including Vice Chairman Dr. Mohan Thomas, Director Mr. C.V. Rappai, management representatives Ms. Chindhu Antony and Mr. Siddharth Shahani, along with the senior leadership team, faculty, students, and parents.

The ceremony commenced with the traditional welcoming of guests, followed by a solemn prayer and an introductory address that set a dignified tone for the morning. Principal Dr. Anand R. Nair addressed the gathering, emphasising the rigorous selection process designed to identify students who embody the school's core values of discipline, service, and academic excellence. He stressed that the badge they don is a reminder of the responsibility they carry and encouraged the student leaders to leave footprints of remembrance.

The event's highlight was the badging and oath-taking ceremony, featuring the 28-member Prefectorial Board (Grades VI–XII), the 10-member Junior Prefect Board (Grades IV–V), and 10 elected Assistant Prefects from Grade XI. They were joined by 334 Student Council members representing Grades I–XII.

Head Boy (Senior) Achwin Ravikumar and Head Girl (Senior) Aalia Mazhar Khan, along with Head Boy (Primary) Abdul Azeem and Head Girl (Primary) Mary Roslyn, vowed to lead with integrity, responsibility, and compassion. The Vice Head Boys and Vice Head Girls pledged their wholehearted support in maintaining discipline, unity, and school spirit.
This was followed by the flag ceremony and swearing-in of the Sports Captains and Sports Vice Captains from senior and primary sections, along with the House Masters and House Mistresses from Mars, Jupiter, Neptune, and Saturn houses, who stood as representatives of the school's diverse house system.
The oath symbolised not merely the acceptance of positions but the acceptance of accountability and service towards the school community. One by one, the leaders stepped forward to receive their insignias and sashes of office. With hands raised in a collective pledge, the council members took a solemn oath to discharge their duties with integrity and to uphold the prestige of the institution.
The newly appointed Head Boy and Head Girl then took to the podium, delivering inspiring acceptance speeches that outlined their vision for a collaborative and vibrant campus life in the coming year. In his keynote address, the Principal encouraged the new leaders to lead by example.
Vice Chairman Dr. Mohan Thomas congratulated the newly elected leaders and reminded the council that leadership is a journey of responsibility rather than a position of authority. Recalling the rich legacy of Birla Public School, he highlighted the remarkable contributions of G.D. Birla to the cause of India's freedom struggle, noting his selfless act of dedicating the historic Birla House for the greater good of the nation. Dr. Thomas urged the students to emulate the values and vision of such exemplary leaders and to uphold the proud legacy and values of Birla Public School. He concluded his address by congratulating the students, faculty, and senior leadership team for their phenomenal success in the Class XII board examinations for 2026-27.

The atmosphere was further elevated by a stirring performance from the School Choir, whose harmonies reflected the spirit of unity within the student body. The proceedings concluded with a formal vote of thanks by the Speakers of the Student Council, Fatima Iqra and Raaghav A.M., who acknowledged the efforts of the organising committee and the support of the parent community.

As the new Prefectorial Board takes charge, Birla Public School continues its tradition of nurturing responsible citizens and visionary leaders prepared for the challenges of the future.
