US launches fresh strikes on Iran; Tehran retaliates with missile and drone attacks

The United States launched fresh airstrikes on multiple Iranian military targets after a Panama-flagged tanker was hit by a drone in the Strait of Hormuz. The US military said the strikes targeted drone facilities, air defense systems, and military infrastructure, accusing Iran of violating the ceasefire by attacking commercial shipping.

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) responded by launching missiles and drones at US military facilities in Kuwait and Bahrain, claiming the attacks destroyed key infrastructure. However, US officials said there were no casualties or significant damage, while both Kuwait and Bahrain activated their air defense systems and urged residents to remain cautious.

The latest escalation has raised concerns over the stability of the Strait of Hormuz, a vital global oil shipping route. Both Washington and Tehran have accused each other of breaching the ceasefire agreement, increasing fears of renewed tensions in the region despite ongoing diplomatic efforts.
