Doha: The Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) has forecasted a rise in relative humidity across the country this week, particularly from Tuesday, August 5, to Wednesday, August 6, 2025. The department also warned of potential mist or fog in some areas, urging residents to take necessary precautions during early mornings and evenings. This weather pattern comes as Qatar progresses through the third month of summer, which is typically marked by hot and humid conditions with little to no rainfall.
The QMD attributes the rise in humidity to the prevailing surface low-pressure systems and dominant easterly winds common during August. These conditions are known to increase moisture levels in the atmosphere. Historical climate data shows that the highest temperature recorded in Qatar during August was 48.6°C in 2002, while the lowest was 22.4°C in 1971. The average daily temperature for this month is expected to hover around 35°C.
