Beirut: The Israeli army renewed its attacks on several villages and towns in southern Lebanon on Thursday, intensifying tensions along the border region.
According
to the Lebanese National News Agency, Israeli warplanes carried out 13
airstrikes across the Sidon area, targeting the outskirts of Shamstar, Roumin,
Houmin, Sarafand, and Bisariyeh. Additional raids hit Bnaafoul, while drones
struck the road between Sharqiya and Kawthariyeh al Siyad and dropped
incendiary bombs on Deirantar in the Bint Jbeil district.
Mock
raids were also conducted at low altitudes over southern regions, including
Nabatieh al Fawqa, where an Israeli drone launched a raid on the Ali al Taher
area. Meanwhile, Israeli forces used machine guns in a large-scale combing
operation on the outskirts of Khiyam.
The renewed strikes come as Israeli forces continue to maintain positions at several points along the border, despite earlier agreements for withdrawal and repeated Lebanese complaints of ongoing violations.
