Arafat, Saudi Arabia: The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah instructed most pilgrims to remain inside their camps in Arafat until 4 p.m. as a safety precaution against extreme heat during peak hours. This directive significantly reduced crowding around the Namira Mosque during the Arafat sermon and the Dhuhr and Asr prayers, ensuring a more organized and safer experience for pilgrims.
To
maintain order and protect pilgrims’ well-being, the ministry emphasized the
importance of adhering to official grouping plans and using authorized
transportation methods such as buses and the Mashaer Metro Train. Walking
between sites was strictly prohibited to prevent safety hazards and traffic
disruptions, reflecting the ministry’s commitment to a smooth and secure Hajj
operation.
The Ministry of Health reported several heat stress cases on the Day of Arafah and reinforced the need for pilgrims to avoid direct sunlight until late afternoon. Pilgrims were advised to use umbrellas, stay hydrated, and follow their groups’ schedules. Medical teams remained on high alert, providing round-the-clock care as part of broader efforts to ensure a healthy Hajj
