Jeddah: Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah has urged
pilgrims to remain within their designated camps from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the
Day of Arafat to prevent heat exhaustion, in light of the high temperatures
expected.
Speaking
during a meeting with heads of Hajj missions from various countries, held on
the sidelines of the 49th Grand Hajj Symposium in Jeddah - Al-Rabiah
highlighted the dangers of random group movement, warning that it could disrupt
crowd flow and compromise pilgrim safety.
The
minister directed all Hajj affairs offices to strictly adhere to regulations
governing the movement of pilgrims within the holy sites, stressing the
importance of safety and the smooth performance of rituals. He emphasized the
need for pilgrims to use designated transportation from Arafat to Muzdalifah,
rather than walking, as part of a coordinated effort to manage crowds
efficiently and safely.
Al-Rabiah
underscored the critical role of the Nusuk Card,
mandating its use for access to the Grand Mosque, holy sites, and public
transportation. He said the card has become a key regulatory tool in ensuring
proper organization and preventing unauthorized activities.
He also announced that this year’s Hajj will see a significant intensification of permit verification to guarantee the safety and well-being of pilgrims and to ensure that all rituals are performed in a structured and dignified manner.
