York: HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin
Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani met with United Nations Secretary-General
Antonio Guterres on Tuesday, on the sidelines of the International Conference
for the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation
of the Two-State Solution. The high-level meeting took place in New York and
focused on deepening cooperation between Qatar and the United Nations,
particularly regarding humanitarian and diplomatic efforts in the Middle East.
The
two leaders held in-depth discussions on the ongoing developments in the Gaza
Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories. They reviewed joint efforts to
facilitate humanitarian aid delivery to the people of Gaza and explored
strategies to push forward the international agenda for a peaceful resolution
to the Palestinian issue. The meeting also touched on broader regional and
international matters of mutual concern, highlighting Qatar’s active role in
global diplomacy and conflict resolution.
HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman reaffirmed Qatar’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, emphasizing the country's commitment to backing the Palestinian people in their pursuit of all legitimate rights. He stressed the importance of implementing the two-state solution as a pathway to lasting peace and reiterated Qatar’s readiness to support any international initiative that contributes to a just and comprehensive resolution.
