Doha, Qatar: His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, attended the inauguration ceremony of the Ras Laffan and Mesaieed Solar Power Plants in Ras Laffan City on today, 28 April 2025. 

During the event, HH the Amir viewed a documentary detailing the construction stages of the two plants and their role in supporting Qatar's strategy to transition to low-carbon energy, aligning with the Qatar National Vision 2030's sustainability goals. The ceremony also featured a theatrical performance highlighting the historical uses of solar energy in agriculture and industry.

Post-ceremony, the Amir toured the solar panel control and distribution room, showcasing cutting-edge technologies in solar electricity generation and the stations’ capabilities to significantly contribute to the country's renewable energy demands.
