Doha: Qatar has completed all preparations for the 9th
Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (Dimdex 2026),
which opened today at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC). Held under
the patronage of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, the
event is organised by the Qatar Armed Forces under the theme “A Global Hub for
Defence Innovations – Invest in Possibilities to Shape a Secure Tomorrow.”

Organising Committee Chairman Staff Brigadier (Sea) Abdulbaqi Saleh al-Ansari
said this edition is the largest since the exhibition’s inception, reflecting
strong global interest. The four-day event brings together over 200 local and
international companies across naval, air and land defence sectors, showcasing
advanced technologies including AI, cybersecurity, radar and surveillance
systems across more than 40,000 sqm of exhibition space.
Dimdex 2026 also features key events such as the Middle East Naval Commanders Conference, VIP delegation visits and the reception of international warships at Hamad Port. Expected to attract over 25,000 visitors, the exhibition runs from January 19 to 22, with attendance available through prior online registration at www.dimdex.com.
