Her Highness attends Qatar Foundation Convocation 2026, honours 1,100 graduates

Doha, Qatar: Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation, attended QF's Convocation 2026 ceremony at Qatar National Convention Centre, where 1,100 graduates from eight higher education institutions were honoured. HE Vice Chairperson Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al-Thani also attended the ceremony, which was held under the theme of 'Celebration'. The Class of 2026 comprises 444 Qatari graduates and 660 non-Qatari graduates from 78 countries, with 60 percent female and 40 percent male.


Francisco Marmolejo, President of Higher Education and Education Advisor at QF, congratulated the graduates, saying: "Qatar Foundation Convocation 2026 is an inspiring community celebration of academic achievement and resilience of our graduates who have shown unwavering perseverance even in times of uncertainty." Keynote speaker Obadah Diab, a Georgetown University in Qatar alumnus and now Chief of Staff to the Foreign Minister of Syria, told graduates: "True education is that lantern which keeps a dream alive until its time arrives."


Sixteen graduates received the QF Excellence Award for exceptional academic success, leadership, innovation, and community impact. Since its establishment in 1995, QF's higher education ecosystem has grown to include Hamad Bin Khalifa University and seven international partner universities, with an alumni community now totalling more than 12,000 graduates. "The QF model is a unique multidisciplinary ecosystem that empowers students to curate their education across more than 65 academic programs and multiple world-class institutions," Marmolejo said.
