Doha: Hamad International Airport (HIA) has issued a practical arrival guide for passengers returning to Doha this August as the airport prepares for one of its busiest arrival periods, with thousands of families and students returning after the summer holidays.
HIA
has urged travellers to plan ahead and make use of the facilities available
across the terminal for a smoother arrival experience. Families travelling with
children can use complimentary strollers available at stroller nests throughout
the concourses. Passengers arriving through Concourses D and E can also use the
complimentary shuttle buggy service from designated stations, with boarding
along the route subject to seat availability. The service takes passengers
close to the Arrivals immigration escalators.
To
help speed up immigration procedures, eligible passengers can use the Scan
& Go service and e-gates before proceeding to baggage reclaim. Children
using the service must meet the minimum height requirement of 120cm. At baggage
reclaim, passengers should check the flight information screens for their
assigned belt, with all baggage, including oversized items, delivered to the
designated belt. Travellers are also advised to verify baggage tags before
leaving the airport. Those unable to locate baggage or other items can approach
the Baggage Services Office in the Arrivals Hall for assistance.
People
collecting arriving passengers are encouraged to use the airport car park,
located a short walk from the Arrivals Hall, to help maintain smooth traffic
flow. For onward travel into Doha, passengers can choose from ride-hailing
services including Uber, BadrGo and Ryde, with pick-up on the ground floor of
the car park near the car rental booths. Authorised taxis and buses are
available from designated pavilions around the Arrivals Hall, while the Doha
Metro can be reached through a short indoor walk. Car rental, limousine and
valet services are also available. HIA said its teams will be on hand
throughout the busy period to assist passengers and help ensure a smooth and
comfortable return to Doha.
