Doha: Qatar is continuing diplomatic efforts to halt the current regional escalation, restore the ceasefire and pave the way for a return to negotiations, Advisor to the Prime Minister and Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Dr. Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari said on Tuesday. He stressed the need to ensure freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz and create conditions for all parties to return to dialogue.
Al
Ansari reaffirmed that diplomacy and dialogue remain the only way to resolve
differences and conflicts. He also stressed Qatar’s commitment to protecting
its people, territory and sovereignty while maintaining good-neighbourly
relations based on mutual respect. Coordination among GCC countries is
continuing at various levels to address potential repercussions and support
regional security and stability.
On Gaza, Al Ansari called for progress in implementing the second phase of the ceasefire agreement and accelerating the Gaza plan proposed by US President Donald Trump. He also pointed to what he described as Israel’s continued failure to fully implement commitments agreed under the ceasefire arrangement.
