Islamabad: Abbas Araghchi returned to Pakistan on Sunday after completing a visit to Oman, as part of a multi-nation diplomatic tour, a diplomatic source said. His visit comes amid ongoing regional efforts, including those led by Pakistan, to facilitate talks between Iran and the United States following tensions triggered by US-Israeli strikes on Iran on February 28.
Araghchi
arrived at Nur Khan Air Base in Rawalpindi and is expected to hold meetings
with senior Pakistani officials during his brief stay in Islamabad. The visit
is seen as part of intensified diplomatic engagements aimed at reducing
tensions and exploring pathways toward dialogue and conflict resolution in the
region.
Earlier
in Oman, Araghchi met Haitham bin Tariq and discussed Iran’s perspective on
regional developments and peace efforts. The Omani Sultan shared his views on
advancing diplomatic initiatives to achieve sustainable political solutions and
mitigate the impact of ongoing crises on the people of the region. Araghchi is
scheduled to travel next to Moscow as his diplomatic tour continues.
