Washington: The White House warned against taking Iran’s public statements at face value, calling their state media reports "mixed messaging" and "nonsense."

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt noted a major gap between Tehran’s aggressive public tone and the concessions their negotiators make in private. She described the Iranian government as "fractured" and stated that the U.S. is waiting for a single, unified peace proposal before moving forward.

While President Trump has extended the ceasefire at Pakistan’s request, the U.S. is keeping its naval blockade in place to maintain pressure on Iran during negotiations.
