US President Donald Trump has extended the
ceasefire with Iran indefinitely to allow more time for peace negotiations,
marking a significant shift from his earlier stance. The decision follows a
request from Pakistan’s leadership, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, as efforts continue to reach a
unified proposal from Tehran.
Despite the
extension, Trump confirmed that the US blockade of Iranian ports will remain in
place, keeping pressure on Iran during the negotiation phase. While no new
military activity was reported after the deadline passed, uncertainty continues
over the future of talks, with tensions still high across the region.
