Tehran: Iran's
Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has announced the immediate and complete
closure of the Strait of Hormuz to all oil tankers and commercial ships,
according to a statement from the IRGC.
The
announcement marks a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict between
Iran and the United States, as the strait is a critical waterway through which
approximately 20 percent of the world's oil passes.
