Doha: Celebrating the vibrant spirit of Malayalam literature and student creativity, the Department of Malayalam at M.E.S Indian School released its much-awaited Malayalam magazine, Sahitham, at a grand function held in the school’s Conference Hall.

The event was thoughtfully organised to honour the literary talents and creative contributions of students who played a pivotal role in bringing the publication to life. The magazine showcases a rich collection of poems, short stories, essays and artistic expressions, reflecting the linguistic depth and imaginative skills of the young writers.

The Chief Guest, Dr Hameeda Kadar, Principal of the school, formally unveiled both the digital and print editions of Sahitham. In her keynote address, she lauded the dedicated efforts of the students and teachers whose unwavering commitment ensured the successful completion of the magazine. She encouraged students to continue nurturing their literary abilities and creative expression in Malayalam, emphasising the importance of preserving and promoting the richness of the language for future generations.

The cultural segment of the programme added colour and vibrancy to the occasion. Muhammed Hasbin of Class XI–D delivered an impressive poem recitation, marked by eloquence and confidence. The celebration was further enlivened by a lively folk group song performed by students of Classes VII and VIII, filling the hall with rhythm and festive spirit.

Faisal of Class 8N welcomed the gathering, setting the tone for the event. The
programme concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks by Muhammed Nazan of Class
X–F, who expressed sincere gratitude to the dignitaries, participants and
organisers for their valuable contributions.
The event was meticulously organised under the guidance of the Malayalam Department, led by Mrs Bijily Mohanakumar, whose leadership and dedication ensured the smooth and successful conduct of the programme.
