Doha,
Qatar: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) has introduced 20
new electronic services on the Maaref Portal to streamline student registration
for the 2026–2027 academic year. This digital initiative allows parents to
manage school registration and transfers entirely online, significantly
reducing administrative hurdles and eliminating the necessity for in-person
visits.
The
portal offers a wide array of services, including early electronic
registration, transfer requests for both current and upcoming years, and adult
education enrollment. It also features a “Where is My School?” tool to help
families find appropriate locations based on their residency, alongside
academic level placement services to ensure students are enrolled in the
correct grade. Other digital options include paying registration fees,
purchasing textbooks, and applying for sibling-specific transfers.
A
structured registration timeline has been established to maintain an organized
process throughout the year. For Qatari nationals, children of Qatari women,
and GCC nationals, early registration for siblings began on April 12, while
general early registration for these groups is set to start on April 26, with
both closing on August 13, 2026. For all other nationalities, early sibling
registration begins on May 17, and general early registration starts on May 24,
also running until August 13. A final registration window will open for all
nationalities at the beginning of the academic year, from August 25 until
October 1, 2026.
The Ministry advises parents to prepare all necessary documentation in advance and to utilize these digital tools to ensure a smooth and well-organized start to the upcoming academic year.
