Doha: The Ministry of Transport has issued a new circular regulating marine vessel activities in the waters surrounding Al Safliya Island, aiming to enhance maritime safety, security, and environmental protection.

Under the new plan, the waters have been divided into two sectors. The northern sector is designated exclusively for marine sports activities, allowing only jet skis and jetboats, while the southern sector is reserved for yachts, launches, and other boats, with limited-time anchoring permitted.

The ministry has urged all vessel owners, operators, and marina officials to strictly comply with the regulations and applicable laws, warning that violations may lead to legal action. The circular has come into immediate effect.
