Doha: The Ministry of Interior has introduced a
new initiative aimed at reducing road accidents and moving towards a long-term
goal of zero fatalities and serious injuries.
Officials said the programme will focus on
strengthening traffic law enforcement, raising public awareness and promoting
responsible driving behaviour. Special attention will be given to common causes
of accidents, including speeding, distracted driving and failure to use
seatbelts.
The initiative also includes coordination with
relevant authorities to enhance road safety measures and improve monitoring
systems. Authorities stressed that public cooperation will play a key role in
achieving safer roads across the country.
The ministry said the move reflects ongoing
efforts to protect lives and improve overall traffic safety standards
nationwide.
