Doha: Acclaimed
Qatari artist and art critic Dr. Jamila Ibrahim Al Shuraim will attend the
convocation ceremony of Al Madrasa Al Islamiyya (AMI) Doha as the chief guest.
Widely recognized as one of Qatar’s leading female artists, Dr. Al Shuraim has
made significant contributions in the fields of painting, graphic arts, and
sculpture, earning a distinguished place in the country’s contemporary art
landscape.
She is among the
personalities featured in the book “Top Ten Female Artists in Qatar” and holds
a degree in Art Education from Qatar University. She later earned her doctorate
in Fine Arts (Art Design) from Madison State University in the United States.
Alongside her artistic achievements, Dr. Al Shuraim has remained actively
involved in cultural media and art criticism, playing an influential role in
the development of Qatar’s modern art movement.
The Principal stated
that several distinguished personalities from the social, cultural, and
educational sectors, along with madrasa teachers and parents, will also attend
the event.
The convocation ceremony is scheduled to take place on Thursday, May 21, at 7 pm at the FCC Auditorium, where certificates will be awarded to students who have successfully completed their Grade 10 studies.
