Paris Saint-Germain successfully defended their UEFA Champions League crown after defeating Arsenal on penalties following a 1-1 draw after extra time in the final at the Puskás Arena in Budapest, Hungary.
Arsenal
took the lead through Kai Havertz, raising hopes of a historic first Champions
League triumph for the North London club. However, PSG fought back to level the
score, forcing the match into extra time and eventually a penalty shootout.
The
victory marks PSG's second consecutive Champions League title after winning the
competition for the first time last season. While PSG added another major
trophy to their collection, Arsenal's wait for a maiden European crown
continues despite recently ending a 22-year wait for the Premier League title.
