Moscow:
Russian President Vladimir Putin has issued a stern warning to the United
States, stating that any new military action against Iran would have
"extremely damaging consequences" for the global community. The
warning follows statements from President Donald Trump suggesting that a
military response remains a possibility in the wake of escalating regional
tensions and the ongoing maritime standoff.
The
Kremlin emphasized that an armed conflict in the Middle East would lead to a
catastrophic surge in violence and a deep humanitarian crisis. President Putin
urged for a diplomatic solution, arguing that military intervention would
destabilize the entire region and further disrupt international energy markets.
This stance aligns with Russia's long-term position of favoring multilateral
negotiations over unilateral military pressure.
In
response, President Trump maintained that while he prefers to avoid war, the
U.S. is prepared to take necessary steps to protect its interests and ensure
the security of international shipping lanes. The U.S. administration has
blamed Iran for a series of provocations, including threats to global oil
supplies, and continues to demand significant concessions regarding Tehran’s
nuclear and ballistic programs.
As the rhetoric intensifies, international leaders are calling for restraint to prevent a full-scale military confrontation that could have lasting global economic repercussions.
