Doha: The
Ministry of Social Development and Family launched the national "Digitally
Aware Family" campaign on Sunday under the slogan "Their Protection,
Your Responsibility," with the participation of 20 national entities.
The initiative aims to enhance digital
safety awareness, empower families to protect their children, and promote the
safe, balanced, and responsible use of modern technology while mitigating
online risks. It is part of the ministry's National Strategy for 2025-2030,
themed "From Care to Empowerment."
HE Undersecretary Khalifa bin Issa Al
Kubaisi emphasized that digital safety has evolved into a societal and family
priority affecting child-rearing, mental health, privacy protection, and
domestic stability. He noted that effective protection relies on active
awareness, continuous family dialogue, and balanced digital habits rather than
total restriction alone.
The campaign targets children, parents, social and psychological specialists, content creators, and family welfare organizations, with objectives including raising awareness about digital risks, instilling safe online behaviours, and unifying national efforts. It delivers through three phases: Risk Awareness, Practical Protection, and Responsibility & Reporting. Coinciding with the launch, the ministry introduced the official eSafety portal (www.esafety.qa) as a unified digital platform providing educational guides and awareness materials.
