Doha: The Ministry of Interior (MoI), in coordination with the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and other relevant authorities, has announced that drone operations are permitted in designated areas across Qatar, effective Tuesday.

The designated areas for drone operations can be identified through the Metrash app, the MoI said.

Drone operations are permitted during two specified periods each day — from sunrise until 9am and from 2pm until sunset. Drone users are required to operate only within the authorised areas and during the permitted hours.

The MoI also reminded users not to operate drones outside the designated zones or for purposes other than those covered by their licences. All applicable requirements and operating regulations must be strictly followed.

The ministry warned that legal action will be taken against violators in accordance with Qatar’s applicable laws and regulations.
