Doha: The Qatari Businessmen Association (QBA) held a meeting with Indian Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and her delegation to discuss strengthening economic and investment ties between Qatar and India.
The
meeting explored opportunities to increase bilateral trade, expand reciprocal
investments and encourage companies from both countries to establish
partnerships and joint projects.
Sitharaman
highlighted India’s large economy, industrial base and growing technology
sector as opportunities for Qatari investors. She also noted Qatar’s advanced
infrastructure and strategic location as an attractive platform for Indian
companies seeking access to Gulf and regional markets.
QBA
board member Sheikh Nawaf Nasser bin Khalid Al-Thani said Qatar-India relations
are gaining momentum and stressed the potential for stronger private-sector
cooperation through long-term investments, joint projects, technology transfer
and knowledge sharing.
The discussions covered potential cooperation in technology, artificial intelligence, fintech, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, logistics, food security, renewable energy, infrastructure, tourism and hospitality. The QBA reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening ties between the business communities of both countries.
