Doha,
Qatar: The Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has introduced the "Hand in
Hand" mural initiative as part of its ongoing "Qatar Is Good"
campaign. This interactive project aims to foster community solidarity and a
culture of giving by inviting the public to become active participants in
humanitarian efforts.
Launched
on Saturday at the Old Doha Port, the initiative features a traveling mural
that will visit several key locations across the country, including Katara
Cultural Village and Gewan Island. Members of the public are encouraged to
write messages of hope and gratitude on the mural, creating a collective mosaic
that reflects national unity and social cohesion.
The
project utilizes an innovative digital approach to bridge the gap between
emotional support and tangible aid. By scanning a barcode displayed on the
mural, visitors can make instant digital donations, effectively transforming
their written messages of solidarity into financial support for humanitarian
projects within Qatar.
The launch event was attended by senior QRCS officials, including Secretary-General Eng. Ibrahim bin Hashem Al Sada and Director of Resource Development Khalid Abdulrahman Al Ibrahim. According to the QRCS, the "Hand in Hand" initiative represents its commitment to modern, engaging methods of humanitarian work that instill a sense of social responsibility across all segments of society.
