Hon'ble Minister of Commerce & Industry of India, Sh. Piyush Goyal held a video conference with Qatar's Minister of State for Foreign Trade, H.E. Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Sayed on 23 April 2026. The Commerce and Industry Minister of India expressed India's solidarity with Qatar in the wake of challenges due to conflict.

The discussions between the two Ministers centered on ways to further enhance India-Qatar bilateral trade and investment ties while strengthening supply chain resilience. Both sides stressed upon enhancing and deepening the bilateral strategic partnership in the times ahead. They also discussed the prevailing situation and the challenges facing the region with the view to explore ways and means to restore trade and commerce exchanges.

The video conference between the two Ministers builds further on the momentum of high-level exchanges between the two sides. Hon'ble Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas of India, Sh. Hardeep Singh Puri had visited Qatar on 9-10 April 2026, where he met with Qatar's Minister of State for Energy Affairs and conveyed India’s solidarity with Qatar and gratitude for Qatar’s enduring support for the Indian community.
