U.S. President Donald Trump announced that negotiations with Iran are progressing, despite Tehran's firm denials. Trump stated that the Islamic Republic is facing a "last chance before decapitation." Speaking at the White House, he noted that the decision to continue talks with Iran was influenced by requests from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and other regional allies.
The President highlighted that the discussions are expected to focus on reopening the Strait of Hormuz and establishing a framework for Iran to address U.S. concerns regarding its nuclear program. He indicated that updates on the negotiations' status would be forthcoming "today or tomorrow."
In contrast, Iran's Foreign Ministry refuted claims of any ongoing negotiations with Washington. However, Trump remained adamant, declaring, "We are talking right now." Meanwhile, Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei clarified that their discussions with Oman were aimed at ensuring passage through the crucial oil corridor, the Strait of Hormuz.
