21-month-old Veda Paresh Sarfare from Ratnagiri, Maharashtra, has secured a place in the India Book of Records after swimming 100 metres in just 10 minutes and 8 seconds. This remarkable feat makes her the youngest swimmer in India to be officially recognised for completing the distance.
Veda’s swimming journey began at just nine months old, inspired by watching her elder brother at the local government pool. Under the dedicated guidance of coaches Mahesh Milke and his wife Gauri, she trained for 11 months, gradually transforming her curiosity into confidence and stamina beyond her years.
Proudly celebrated by her family and coaches, Veda’s accomplishment has captured hearts on social media, marking a milestone for Ratnagiri and setting a new benchmark for young achievers nationwide.
