Veteran singer Asha Bhosle passes away at 92 in Mumbai

Legendary playback singer Asha Bhosle, whose voice defined generations of Indian music, passed away at the age of 92 in Mumbai. Her son Anand Bhosle confirmed the news, stating that her last rites will be held at Shivaji Park.

The veteran singer had been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital on April 11 following extreme exhaustion and a chest infection, according to her granddaughter Zanai Bhosle. Her passing marks the end of an era in Indian music, leaving fans and the film industry in deep mourning.

With a career spanning over eight decades, Asha Bhosle was celebrated for timeless hits like Piya Tu Ab To Aaja, Kajra Mohabbat Wala, and Dil Cheez Kya Hai. Known for her versatility across genres - from peppy numbers to soulful ghazals - she remained one of the most iconic voices in Indian cinema.
