New Delhi: The Government of India on Wednesday issued a fresh advisory urging Indian nationals currently in Iran to leave the country at the earliest, citing an evolving security situation. The advisory, released by the Indian Embassy in Tehran, applies to students, pilgrims, businesspersons, and tourists.
The
embassy advised Indians to depart using all available means, including
commercial flights, and said the warning follows an earlier advisory issued on
January 5, 2025. The move comes amid heightened regional tensions, concerns
over a possible US military action against Iran, and ongoing protests in parts
of the country.
Indian authorities have urged citizens to remain vigilant, avoid protest areas, and stay in close contact with the Indian Embassy. Nationals have also been asked to keep travel and identity documents readily accessible, monitor local media for updates, and seek embassy assistance if needed.
