MES Indian School crowned overall champions at ‘Chetna–2025’ Inter-School Hindi Competition

Doha: In celebration of Hindi Diwas, MES Indian School hosted Chetna–2025, an inter-school Hindi competition, at the school’s Conference Hall on October 14, 2025. The vibrant event brought together 15 schools and more than 45 students from across Qatar, who showcased their linguistic and creative talents in Elocution, Mono Act, and Essay Writing competitions—promoting both language proficiency and cultural expression.


The programme commenced with an inaugural address by Dr. Hameeda Kadar, Principal of MES Indian School, who highlighted the cultural and emotional significance of the Hindi language, remarking that “Hindi is not only our language but also our pride and a strong symbol of our identity.” Mr. A.T. Usman, Member of the M.E.S. Governing Board, officially launched the Hindi Blog, a digital initiative to encourage students’ engagement and creativity in Hindi.


The event was graced by Mr. Ashraf Sharafudheen P.T, Mr. Faisal Mayan, Mr. Sajeeb Bin Abutty, Mr. Shaheed Alungath—Directors of the M.E.S. Governing Board—along with Mrs. Pramila Kannan, Principal of MESIS, and Mr. Shihabudheen Pulath, Senior Vice Principal of MES–Evening Shift, who extended their support and encouragement to the participants.

A distinguished panel comprising Dr. Meenu Parasar Mansi, Mrs. Shalini, and Mrs. Shailaja Bhalla evaluated the competitions and praised the remarkable performances by the students.

Zoya Afroz and Abusar Malik secured first positions in the Mono Act (Intermediate) and Elocution (Junior) categories respectively, leading MES Indian School to emerge as the Overall Champions of Chetna–2025. Winners were awarded trophies and Certificates of Merit in recognition of their achievements.

The cultural segment featured a theme song by the Boys’ Section, a musical treat by the Junior Section, a group dance by the Girls’ Section, and a captivating video presentation. Master Omer Khan Ahmed welcomed the gathering, while Miss Safa Shaikh proposed the vote of thanks.

The event was efficiently coordinated by Mr. Rajendran and Mrs. Renuka, Coordinators of the Department of Hindi, along with the department teachers. The success of Chetna–2025 stands as a testament to MES Indian School’s continued commitment to nurturing multilingual skills, cultural appreciation, and academic excellence among its students.
