Doha, Qatar: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan met with H.E. Maryam Bint Ali Bin Nasser Al Misnad, Minister of State for International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, State of Qatar, to discuss avenues for investment, bilateral cooperation, and mutual development between Kerala and Qatar. The high-level meeting underscored the shared vision of promoting sustainable economic growth and cultural exchange between the two regions.
During the meeting, Chief Minister Vijayan highlighted Kerala’s investor-friendly environment, emerging industrial sectors, and policies encouraging global partnerships. He emphasized Kerala’s readiness to welcome Qatari entrepreneurs and businesses to invest in various sectors including infrastructure, technology, and tourism. Mr. J.K. Menon, Director of Kerala Norka Roots and Chairman of ABN Corporation, briefed the Qatari minister on the scope of industrial projects and entrepreneurship initiatives involving Kerala-based investors in Qatar.
H.E. Maryam Bint Ali Bin Nasser Al Misnad appreciated Kerala’s development model and noted that investment possibilities could be explored under the framework of Qatar–India bilateral cooperation. She expressed optimism that such collaborations would strengthen the longstanding economic and cultural ties between Qatar and Kerala, benefitting both communities.
Chief Minister Vijayan conveyed his gratitude to the State of Qatar for its continuous support to the Indian community and lauded the nation’s efforts in promoting peace and humanitarian causes. As a gesture of goodwill, he presented a special recognition to H.E. Al Misnad. The meeting was attended by H.E. Mr. Vipul, Ambassador of India to Qatar; Mr. Saji Cherian, Kerala Minister for Fisheries, Culture, and Youth Affairs; and Dr. A. Jayathilak IAS, Chief Secretary, Government of Kerala. The discussions reaffirmed the enduring friendship between Kerala and Qatar and opened new avenues for cooperation in trade, investment, and community welfare.
