Doha: All preparations have been completed to welcome Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and his team, who will be arriving in Qatar on October 30 after a gap of 12 years. The announcement was made at a press conference held by the organizers of the ‘Malayalam Festival 2025’, jointly organized by the Loka Kerala Sabha and the Malayalam Mission Sanskriti Qatar Chapter. The event will take place on Thursday, October 30, from 6 pm onwards at the Ideal Indian School Ground in Abu Hamur.
Chief
Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the grand festival, which celebrates
the cultural heritage and global unity of Malayalis. The ceremony will be
attended by Indian Ambassador to Qatar Vipul, Kerala Fisheries and Culture
Minister Saji Cherian, Padma Shri Dr. M. A. Yusuf Ali, and Chief Secretary to
the Government of Kerala Dr. A. Jayathilak IAS. Organizing Committee Chairman
and NORKA Roots Chairman C. V. Rappai stated that extensive preparations are
being coordinated under various sub-committees led by General Convener E. M.
Sudheer.
In the afternoon, the Chief Minister and his
delegation are scheduled to meet with representatives of expatriate
organizations and Malayali industrialists in Qatar. Later in the evening, the
delegation will attend a banquet organized by the Qatar Chamber of Commerce.
The organizing committee has also arranged transportation facilities from
different parts of Qatar to the venue to ensure smooth participation for
attendees.
The Malayalam Festival will feature a wide range of cultural performances from 6 pm onwards, highlighting Kerala’s rich traditions and artistic excellence. As part of the celebrations, expatriate organizations representing Kerala’s 14 districts will set up themed pavilions showcasing the unique features of each district. Committee members Jayaraj K. R., Shiny Kabeer, Shamseer Arikulam, Sabith Zaheer, Pramod Chandran, Sameer Siddique, Ahmed Kutty, Shaheen Mohammad Shafi, Abdul Azeez, Jasitha, and Bindhu Pradeep were present at the press conference.
