Cairo: The State of Qatar and the Arab Republic of Egypt signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Thursday to strengthen cooperation in the health sector. The agreement was signed by HE Minister of Public Health Mansoor bin Ebrahim Al Mahmoud and HE Dr. Khalid Atef Abdel Ghaffar, Egypt’s Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population, in the presence of HE Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly.
The
MoU aims to enhance collaboration between the two countries in public health,
medical sciences, and healthcare system development. It also includes
provisions for the exchange of expertise, training of medical professionals,
and improvement of food safety standards.
A
Qatari delegation led by HE the Minister of Public Health is currently
participating in the 72nd session of the World Health Organization’s (WHO)
Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean, held in Cairo from October 15
to 17 under the theme “Together for a Healthier Future: Action. Access.
Equity.”
